2023 Summer Workshop Information
Workshop Dates: Week 1: May 30st-June 2nd (T-F)
Week 2: June 5th-9th (M-F)

Workshop Session Information
Beginning Band Session (8:00a-10:00a)
· Open to students from grades 5-8
· No musical experience or knowledge is necessary...we give you the tools to learn and understand music fundamentals right away (notes, rhythms, and terminology)
· Get a head start on learning the specifics of your instrument in a fun, active atmosphere.
· One-on-one and small group instruction with experienced clinicians as well as large ensemble playing
· Learn and practice the requirements to enter one of the advanced bands next year
· Open to advanced band members that wish to learn a second instrument
Advanced Band Session (10:00a-12:00p)
· Open to students from grades 6-8 with 1 or more years of experience
· Learn and perform advanced musical techniques and literature in a full ensemble setting
· Work in small group and one-on-one sessions on All-County and All-State Band requirements with experienced clinicians
· Learn advanced fundamentals and music theory concepts—Advanced tone production, advanced finger/slide techniques, note and rhythm reading
Jazz Ensemble Session (12:00p-1:30p)
· Learn and perform basic and intermediate jazz styles including swing, Latin, and rock
· Understand the fundamentals of improvisation and jazz music theory
· Open to advanced band members on Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Drum Set as a primary or secondary instrument. (Requires enrollment in Advance Band Session)
Fee and Payment Information: (all fees include insurance)
One 2-Week Long Class Fee: $90 (Beginning, Advanced Bands)*
Two 2-Week Long Class Fee: $130 (Jazz Band must be taken w/ Advanced Band)*

Instrument Choice/Rental:
Have an instructor walk you through choosing the best instrument for you. Come to the Selection Night and discover your "right fit." ***ALL BEGINNING BAND PARTICIPANTS MUST COME TO THIS EVENT or MAKE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS WITH STAFF
